Feeling Hopeful (Even If Things Go Sideways Tomorrow)

There was a satellite Women's March that took place this last Saturday in Everett, WA. I was a little doubtful because if you've ever been to Everett you know....

I wore this "Hag" sign with Planned Parenthood bumper sticker.

But, it restored my faith; even if things go sideways tomorrow (or beyond) that there are people that believe in the good. I left Everett on Saturday feeling hopeful and I doubt many people say that when departing Everett.

I did my regular volunteer shift at the library today and seriously, there couldn't have been a better distraction. There were cookies and leftover Halloween candy with a peal of laughter as M___ne dropped her chocolate covered cookie. A UW Japanese student was talking to S__id from Iran about their favorite candy and J___t from Columbia was explaining to me how she prefers shopping in person instead of online - "It's just better!"

During the break, as people from all corners of the world connected and spoke and laughed with one another, I sat and took a sip of water. I closed my eyes for a second and thought - there is hope.

I'm not an oracle, so I don't know what will happen over the next week but I am hopeful.
